Welcome to the January  issue of the LoPresti Newsletter and 2006 wrap up.

Wow!  2006 was a busy year for us down here in Florida.

This is the time of year that we all sit back and reflect on what went well and not so well in the last year.

We made GIANT strides in getting the Fury program rolling, and our next 2 years will be very busy setting up the factory, wrapping up certification, and making the first deliveries.  New Mexico is a great place to set up new businesses and Belen and the State of New Mexico are really rolling out the red carpet.

In 2006 we saw our biggest year over year expansion ever.  We delivered tons of Boom Beam kits through our OEM channel and directly to our customers.  We delivered a new cowl design for the Cherokee 6 260 in 2006.  If you have not seen it, check out the AOPA Win a Six aircraft.

Did you know that some of our cowl kits are on over 25% of the fleet?

Our new LoPresti Partner program has really started to get traction now.  We have over 240 Partners across the country and around the world.  What is a LoPresti Partner?  Our Partners are your local FBO or MRO.
How is this different than a Dealer?  We are actively working with our Partners to bring you better service and to distribute our LoPresti “Brain Trust” to your local airport.  If your FBO is not yet a LoPresti Partner have them contact me and I will get them on board.

Speaking of the LoPresti “Brain Trust,” our Engineering side successfully designed or “tweaked” aircraft for our OEM Partners in 2006.  By contract I cannot tell you who, but some of these OEM’s are part of the “old guard” and some are “new movers and shakers”.  2007 will bring even more to the engineering table.  One project we can and will talk about is the IndUs Thorpedo.  Watch the coverage of the Sebring Sport Expo for more on this project.  This is going to be one cool looking airplane.

It’s all about Diesel and the DeltaHawk

Nothing is quite as pretty as a well built machine, and an internal combustion engine has to rate as one of the more complex machines in daily use.  The DeltaHawk may be part of the wave of new Aviation Diesels coming to the market but this engine is not just following the pack, they are truly innovative in design.

COMPANY HISTORY

The company was founded in 1996 to develop a “clean sheet” compression-ignition engine for general aviation. A prototype engine first ran on a static Velocity airframe in January 1997. Engines (first a prototype and now pre-production engines) have been running on the DeltaHawk dynamometer since the end of June 2000.

Come and see LeRoy's Cafe

All this and pancakes too.  LeRoy’s café was founded because Dad felt that there were no good places to hang out at the airport.  He remembered growing up in New Jersey he could go to the airport and be part of the culture just by being there.  No badge required.  No one checking to see if you were on the terror list.  Just planes, plane talk, learning something new and some food too.  (Hey we are Italian, so there’s gotta be food involved).

So in the new but not quite finished Café we will have pancakes and coffee this month.  Why pancakes?  Dad liked cooking pancakes.
